Guys,

After serious dispute I have managed to talk the missus to allowing budget for a better TV.  Now, the problem is it has to be NO bigger than a 26", has to have a PC INPUT (DVI/VGA) and very importantly be Ã,£500 or less.   Now I know you can get cheapy 32" ones for within budget and also better ones for more monies, although I have to stick to these constraints.  I have been told that HDTV compliant ones are not noticable on such a small screen, although personally not that fussed.  I currently have a 21" square TV which is crap!

Any recommendations?  Cheers

Samsungs make good HFTVs, slightly over your budget but you wont go wrong.

I heard that the Philips have bad screens.  I would recommend a visit to Currys to have a look at one physically before you buy one, that way you can see what its like before you buy.  Bare in mind that they will be using one of those crappy video repeaters so the picture quality will look bad.  They really know how to make their tv range look good :-/

Providing the resolution is at least 720p and preferably 1366*768 with a response time of sub 16ms then most of the rest is personal preference.

The reason for that resolution is simply because you should be able to use it as a computer monitor for an entertainment PC.

The 26" Samsung is the one to get! Its next on my to buy list. My mate bought that model and its awesome - Ive never seen a picture like it for the money.
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

Thanks for all your comments; me thinks the Samsung too!  I have heard nothing but good things about them.   ;)

My 32" Lexsor is good but the Samsung screens are that little bit better if you can stretch to the dosh.

Finally bought this little baby; am very happy about it!  The samsung that was in my budget was a bit too "shiney"; the case that is.
