Title: Looking for some software...
Post by: Pasty901 on September 14, 2006, 16:36:57 PM
Hi Guys,

Im looking for some software that will allow me to have multiple users logged on to a machine at one time...not sure if this is possible, kind of like using a server with terminal services but i definately cant afford something like this.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you talking about a thin client network style thing (ie dumb terminals log onto a terminal server and use the servers resources) or do you mean a Windows XP Style fast user switching thing where multiple people can log onto a single machine?

maximusotter - thanks for the link ill take a look.

Norphy - Yup xp style with different users but maybe on the one pc connected concurrently, kind of the same deal as terminal services but not if you get my meaning.

Just wondering if there is anything out there that would do it.

Cheers

Iââ,¬â,,¢ve heard of some software called MiniFrame. It may good for what you want, I havenââ,¬â,,¢t tried it myself, but weââ,¬â,,¢re thinking of getting it where we work. Apparently you can have 10 workstations coming off the 1 PC. Is that the kind of thing you were looking for?

No i definately cant afford citrix, but looking at the software which HC1981 suggested it is not citrix in fact it looks like a good solution to my problem.  So much so im going to try a trial.
