Episode 1 chat:
Just started here on TV2 episode one, very interesting to the season going with jumps forward in time to people rather then backwards now
Still cant get over how Lock recovered so well from being shot, lol - what does the island do to you?
Cant wait for episode 2
Im just about to watch episode 3 as we speak
Just watched Episode 3.
Clear as mud.
There is a delay in time with the island.......
Its good to see my favourite character (ben) getting more evil !!
FFS I cant wait until 2010 to see what happens
Quote from: FaT LeoNThere is a delay in time with the island.......
Yep. Sure is.
Did we not establish that back in season 3 and how it is loosly based on that novel about the island and being in a magnetic thingy effect its time compared to rest of word and all is a bit feaky hence why darma was there becuase you could produce and test its effects and all that
Its just how and why and what the island is (alive?) and is it fractured throughout the island and... insert million questions here
Just watched Ep4.
At the end, I could say nothing but. "What", and "No"........
Im shocked.
Nice twist in ep4. Im still not sure about this only 8 people survived the crash thingy.
Will be interesting to see how they (dont) explain that one.
Its never going to end, its effectively turned into neighbours with the island and the plane crash being just a plot device.
Welcome to Lost: The Soap Opera.

He could drop it and kick it out the window.... he would have to be quick and would only get one shot with it! \0/ :mutley:
So 8 survive....
Jack, Kate, Hurley, Aaron + ?
Whos dead?
Presumably Claire, sort of Charlie
/me = confused
When did they mention 8, I thought it was 6, hence the name the oceanic 6.
Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Aaron (if were counting him), ?
We know Ben is also off the island but as he wasnt one of the plane crash survivors we cant count him in that group. Same goes for Desmond.
I enjoyed 4x04 but I thought 03 was better, especially the Sayid/Ben twist at the end.
Is anyone else now thinking the guy in the coffin at the end of s3 was Ben?

AKA a pineapple in the US army due to its slight resemblance to that fruit.
Quote from: KunalIs anyone else now thinking the guy in the coffin at the end of s3 was Ben?
God knows. Didnt Jack bury his dad on the island, way back in S01?
OMG that was an incredible episode. Season 4 has really upped the ante. Also a neat paradox in that he never taught the rat to run the maze before she died.
Edit: Did Jack know that Desmond was in the Hatch when it imploded? He seemed confused by the question...
Id kinda lost interest in LOST by the end of S3, but this is bringing it back!
MORE!
Mmm, was okay. Getting a little sci-fi like tbh.
Quote from: skidzillaEdit: Did Jack know that Desmond was in the Hatch when it imploded? He seemed confused by the question...
Yes i noticed that aswell i wondered why he didnt speak up all those who have been in the hatch knew about its magnetic force.....
I dont think there will be a rush to get off the island if there is a chance people could die via time travel of the brain...... but maybe theres a reason ben & co travelled via the submarine or there could be certain cordinates to travel to be safe
Its getting great :) Loved ep5! Absolutely great!
How messed up would it be if the island was a hub of different realities/dimensions. The bearings people have to take to leave the island being required to go back to their own. Hence the confusion over the plane wreck being found with bodies, why kate and jack at the end of the last season said something about wanting to go back but not being able to. Sayid and Ben could be in a different reality to those of the others that left the island. The button Desmond was pressing may have kept things apart, the initial others (the people not of Dharma that got ben to kill everyone else off) could have been from a different instance that merged with his own.
Chances are knowing lost though that no one has hit upon the correct answer yet and we wont know whats going on till the very last moment, if then haha!
Did anyone notice the inconsistency with the blood coming the guys nose whilst hes still tied to the bed? One minute its there, then the camera pulls back and its gone, then the shot pull sin and its back!
Guy tied to the bed was Fisher Stevens, aka Eugene Belford / The Plague / Mr. Babbage from hackers and Ben Jahrvi from Short Circuit!
Thought I recognised him!
Ep 5 was a brilliant episode - i really want to see Ep 6 now, but as it was said Ep 5 did have a few twists in it but i suppose thats one of the reasons why it was good! :D

Also remember him from "Early Edition"
So Jin down, Sun in...
Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun, Aaron (?) Ji Yeon (?) Charlie (?)
Not seen the latest one yet, but Im guessing its gonna be a bit grey in terms of who gets off the island. Ben got off and I doubt hes one of the Oceanic celebs...Charlie is dead Im pretty sure...
I certainly didnt expect them to kill off Rousseau. I wonder who shot her? Last episode for a while now anyhow.
She probably wont be dead, she got shot in the shoulder. Although she hasnt been in it for a while, so maybe its a quick way to write her out.
Quote from: MaldonadoSo Jin down, Sun in...

Not sure if you can count the baby, You still have who on earth was in the coffin
I am confused with how the people on the boat seem to know about folk on the island as they know about the people on the plane yet do not know one of their own crew is one of them, odd that.
Amazing how ben (if it was him) conjured up a plane and 300+ dead bodies All way out there
I do like how they made it look like Jin flashbacks were what you thought present then past, messing with you
I hate and love lost at the same time, its very strange
Oceanic 6 are Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Sun and Aaron.
Ji Yeon isnt born yet, Charlie is dead/ghost, Ben isnt part of the group and Id guess Des made it off, although its been kept quiet.
What about Micheal and his son? Are they not considered part of it? Or were they assumed lost with everyone else?
Lost viewers say What? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcatQSyRK6c)
Anyone seen the "Lost: Missing Pieces" on Sky. Only seen a couple on anytime. Dont really answer much but make you go "hmph" hehe
F**king hell episode nine was incredible. :D
They changed the rules :P ben in control of the smoke monster!¬
Charles Widmore: I know what you are boy!
Ive always loved this show, but anyone who complained about season 3 must surely be satisfied with 4.
You can see a bittersweet ending for Des/Penny with Ben now involved.
And how the hell did Ben get to Tunisia! He just appears on the ground, then asks what year it is - clearly teleportation/timetravel.
Utter, utter, win.
Indeed, much better than usual. I love ben, Im thinking hell get his own spinoff series.
I really wouldnt want my appendix taken out like that.
Jack is hardcore.
Wasnt great the latest episode, run of the mill stuff from lost.......
Quote from: FaT LeoNWasnt great the latest episode, run of the mill stuff from lost.......
Agreed.

It is cool what this is shaping up like, lots of things running around now, His island? Is he and his family before him Darma? and it is them fighting for the island OR at a time or some time had rules in terms of sharing?
Did he really control the smoke Monster though? Or did he just let down the barrier through a secret passage, or did he go into a room to control it?
A million and one questions more to add to the list, lol.
I love how they got rid of some more random people so they can just have the main cast and kill them off and not have to show or introduce more people.
"get down"
bloke - "wheh?" Bang hes dead
And then another and then the two women popping around the corner moronically being shot dead - book 4 odd out the way in seconds lol and then a main cast member gets her house hit with an rgp and only has a bit of a headache.
LOL, class
If he really controlled the smoke monster, they wouldnt have needed to run into the forest? Itd be a case of "Lets stay here while the smoke monster kills those guys off" - Sounded like he was a little afraid of it, or didnt have full control over it. Unless this is classic Ben, being devious.
Main thing that gets me is that Ben didnt really "belong" on the island, in the sense he was just a kid and since then has figured everything out for himself, with a little help from the other others? Admittedly now he "Belongs".

Yeah but he knows way to much to hold in anyones head at one time and the others when he first found them thought he was special and made him leader so he must have a gift just like walt in some regard to which Jacob plays a part in terms of seeing him or something.
And why cant Ben kill Whitmore?
Seems to be Ben doesnt like to do the killing directly, manipulating others. Maybe some kind of good/evil balance going on?Kinda goes out the window with shooting Locke, but then, maybe he didnt intend on killing him directly...
Perhaps he shot Locke so that he could find the cabin?

Maybe if one dies they both die.
I did realize after who his daughter was again when he mentioned it - Penny, and a certain someone would be a bit pissed off
Who says a certain someone is still alive, no mention of it yet...?
Didnt think about the one dies the other dies thing.
What about, if he has time travel and teleportation ability, maybe hes Whitmores father?!?!
*Darth Vadar impersonation*
"Charles Whitmore....I AM YOUR FATHER"
Quote from: zpyderWho says a certain someone is still alive, no mention of it yet...?
Still on the boat, but in the the future yeah your right but then we know people are still on the island and only some get off and why they all keep stum about things in the future so thats all out there.
QuoteDidnt think about the one dies the other dies thing.
Well would not the first story to have a tie in like this, as to why and how and if true - who knows
QuoteWhat about, if he has time travel and teleportation ability, maybe hes Whitmores father?!?!
That is another good point actually, with all the time funniness on the island not yet explained fully....
Hew grew up on that island so god knows how long he has actually been around for if you took real time time wise (if you get me) and you see some "others" not aged a day from when he met them as a child to now.
While not his farther they both could have been around a very long while so maybe Whitmore started Darma?
From them saying more questions will be answered then put forward in this series of Lost I have to totally go against that and say otherwise.
I dunno, theyre answering questions and theres a definite sense of the start of "Wrapping up" so to speak. I think the problem is the answers theyre giving us are so weird and twisted that they raise more questions as well. Yeah. thats the classic lost formula I know, but the balance does seem to have shifted a little in favour of answering things.
Aging wise, I dunno. Even if we say time is slower on the island or something, relatively speaking Ben would have still lived the same length of time as people not on the island. IE, someone living 100 years at light speed would have been alive for 100 years on the ship, but in normal time this would have been much less. When he returns to normal time hed be 100 years old, just not 100 years in the future?

Depends on how this magno electric strange island umbo mumbo magic "oooh thing actually is working
I would still like to know what was the hatch doing and when it blew up what it is now not doing with regard to the flash of light.
Okay, who gives a toss about all this.
I want to know what the giant foot was all about!!!!

There are lots of these little things they just showed and never said anything about like what on earth is special about Walt, the hatch etc.
Move the Island?! :wtf:
Quote from: skidzillaMove the Island?! :wtf:
Just realised another thing - they seem to have forgot about he other island.
I do believe whitemore has something to do with darma from his conversation with ben i was left with an empression that this feud between ben and charles has went on for years and years and who ever has the island has the power/upperhand to manipulate events from the past and know things that are going to happen in the future but except charles whitmore he seems to know whats up!
What is interesting is the fact ben said rules as if it is some sort of competition for the island there are no rules in time of war! none of the soldiers arent showing much mercy!
http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/6841/2ndprotocolra9.jpg
Charles whitemores 2nd protocol...... darma symbol.... i always thought that the rescue ship was darma wanting the island back again! ben tryed to hide it from charles whitmore....
now we know who killed the doctor from the boat and we also seen that the islands time varies? (rocket test) and now the doctors death........
Maybe the DI still does want the Island, but realises that Ben wont give it up. Destroying it may be the only way, if DI cant have it, no one can!
Im guessing when it aired (I wasnt "back) you guys all spotted how "jacob" could be seen in a split second when locke was in the cabin, sat in a chair. He kinda looks like A: the guy that Ben met that told him to kill everyone off, and B: the guy that was still with Ben when the others were moving around...?
Well we know the Hanso Foundation setup the Dharma Initiative and theres been signs (no confirmation on the show but otehr stuff) to point to a relationship between Widmore Industries and Hanso.
I reckon thats what Widmore meant by that used to be my island.
Also that Dharma logo on the cover off that document on the picture above is the same as the one Ben had on his Parka in the Tunisia/Iraq episode. Believe its to do with the Orchid Station.
There was a Dharma Initiative video which was released at Comicon last year that seems to link into all this. At the time it didnt make much sense and everybody presumed it wasnt apart of the canon story just a bit of fun.
Its clearly all related to some sort of time-space continuum experiment - maybe "Philadelphia Experiment" style cloaking or something involving wormholes.
Its all becoming very Outer Limits / X-Filesish.... Im loving it :D
Heres a link to the Orchid Video released before S4 began.

Remember the Desmond time travel episode with the rabbit in the lab at Oxford?
There was also the point in a recent episode when Locke brings Ben some cooked rabbit and ben asks with some concern "It didnt have a number of it....?" as if he was concerned to eat it, knowing what had been done to it.
"God loves you as he loved Jacob"
Hmm
(Can we do something about the stupidly large picture, tis annoying scrolling left and right to read a single line...)

In the episode where Johns born, did they deliberately pick someone that looked like the G-Man?
Quote from: soopahflyIn the episode where Johns born, did they deliberately pick someone that looked like the G-Man?
That episode blew my mind the island seems to not have a standard out of time sync, is it basically one big time machine? And who is this black dude this season? And the other?
How come whatsit now seems not to care about her baby any more and her dead and now alive dad.
SOOO confusing

J.J Abrams is a big Half Life fan. Valve also
returned the favour in episode two. :)
has anyone else seen the sky one thing with lost and a narator ? (spl)
I only watched it for a few min, but they were running all of the recent season back to back, all the way through with a guy talking about the episodes...
its unberleaverble how much is going on in the background that you miss... the bit i saw was with huhie in the hospital.... the blackboard in the background has pictures of the island on it, even the pattern made up by the -drop-a-counter-into-the-thing-get-4-in-a-row game (tm) meant something..... was fascinating :o

Interesting, very interesting. :)
Great end to the season.
Polar Bears:
1. We see cages that are intended to teach Polar Bears how to do simple tasks and get rewards, presumably testing their intelligence or their capability for training.
2. The wheel that Ben turns. Really big and heavy and in a freezing room. Whats the first animal that comes to mind when you want a something strong that doesnt mind the cold?
3. Charlotte found a polar bear skeleton (with a Dharma collar) in the middle of the desert.
4. And where did Ben end up after he turned the wheel? In the desert. (http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/The_Shape_of_Things_to_Come#Flashforward) :)
