Title: Mac Mail 2.1
Post by: Clock'd 0Ne on October 11, 2006, 00:14:16 AM
Okay, a client is having trouble connecting to our mail server, Ive run through the login details with him and all seems fine, our servers are using SPA to send mail; as I dont have a mac I have no idea where the equivalent settings are in this program compared to, say Outlook Express. Can any of you Mac boys help?

Are you looking for the mail server configuration settings?

From the Mail menu, select Preferences.

Click the Accounts button.

In the list of accounts on the left side of the window, select the account you want to modify, and the configuration information will appear to the right. If you prefer, you can click the + sign to create a new account.

From here you can specify your servers etc...

I have a feeling this is not what you are after, but posted in case it was.

No, more specifically just the setting equivalent to Secure Password Authentication. I dont have access to the guys machine, hes going to have to find it himself on direction alone.

I was told over the phone there was a list of authentication methods displayed such as Password, Cerberus and a few others, but none fit the bill :?

There was a site that had flash versions of applications so you could go through the setting up procedure of various applications and OS.  I cant remember where it is :(
