Title: Macgyver?
Post by: neXus on April 05, 2008, 03:35:44 AM
Keep hearing and being told this rumour that it may be coming back, can not find actual fact myself but it keeps passing through my radar from lots of people.
Richard Dean Anderson does not have any seemingly real work after the stargate movies bar some possible voice over work for the mmo game so he could well do, he is popular again through the show so would a new Macgyver in todays world and tools and gadgets be a success?
If it was in the filming style of heroes or lost and more serious over humor could it be a hit?

I have to say I totally think it could work. Modernised of course like Nexus said and less cheesy but could be a good little tek based hero show. Plus youd have the Mc fan base that already exists.

Id def watch it!! Love that theme tune!

No link as it was on the TV news and no google come up with anything BUT the rumors all seem to be true.
Lee David Zlotoff Has confirmed he is making an big budget movie and its in the planning stages.
This is cool news as if it does well it could see the tv show return, Question is if Richard Dean Anderson will. He has been a great hit in stargate and not doing anything and its right for him as he could still do the Macgyver magic in todays world and would follow onto to series if there was one.
I think it would be a cop out action set for a chrsitian bale type role. Macgyver can still be who he was but more serious and modern for todays movie, leave the true batman in his films and gadgets and others like crank 2 to do their job and fill the other kind of Tango And Cash type role.
