Title: Mission speaker parts
Post by: Mark on May 06, 2006, 19:35:02 PM
I need to get a few parts for some old speakers and cant find anywhere reasonable that sells them. I need a midrange driver for a set of 753s and a tweeter from a set of 735 (Non is)

Most British loudspeaker manufacturers use drivers from companies like Elac etc; your best best is to look closely at the part numbers on the units and just google for them; if you identify the driver maker usually they will deal direct. Ive done this before for an old pair of british-made Denon speakers.

Tried that already unfortunately but no cigar :/

The HF driver on the 735i is like nothing i have seen on any other manufacturers units

Will Mission not tell you themselves the source of the units?

You could go with something else if youre not a stickler.

I had some amazing sounding (for the moderate price) large bookshelf JBLs a while back that blew out the titanium tweets. I replaced both with some high end soft domes, which needed a bit of router work to fit, and the end result was a speaker that sounded even better--so nice it would freak out my audiophile/musician friends when they came over for beer and LPs. Id pull off the grilles and show them the mod before they thought their ears were broken.

I only need the one driver in 735 and a pair for the 753s - and you wouldnt want to put anything other than standard in the 753s - it would be like putting vulgar chrome wheels and spinners on a range rover
