Not a request, more a quick run over what ive found while looking the last few days.  Just in case someone is interested.  The various providers DO like to hide crappy terms in the small print.

Three
Pros
Best coverage, fastest speeds.  They offer 3.6Mb connections, even though the modems sync at 7.2 when you power them up.  Browsing is reasonable.
Cons
If you go over the limits they dont tell you, they just bill you £1 per 10Mb.  Thats about £100 per gigabyte.  Somewhat ouchie to say the least.

O2
Pros
its O2, their support is supposedly awesome.  They have good coverage, and reportedly are going to be offering higher speeds than 7.2Mb by the end of the year.
Cons
Was that my wallet vanishing off into the distance?  Damn they are expensive compared to the rest, and again you pay for a set data allowance, but goign over they bill you hard.

T-Mobile
Pros
Data allowances are FUP, not hard cap.  If you go over the limit in 1 month they send you a "Naughty Boy" letter.  Do it the 2nd they slow you down, do it a 3rd time and they keep your speed reduced until you upgrade the tariff.
Cons
Coverage isnt the best, and they only offer up to 1.8Mb at the moment.

Ive gone with T-Mobile as they are offering a decent deal at the moment.  £15 monthly for 24 months, and im preferring their data rules over the others.  Its only a 3Gb allowance, but when it comes down to it Im unlikely to hit it hard for more than a month.  Afterwards itll be my backup connection, and carried in my lappy bag.  The T-Mobile signal at my new hosue is also top sh*t, the mast is about 100 yards away, and my office window looks out over the road.  If you are in the market for one, and you ge a decent t-mobile signal then its probably your best choice.

How come you didnt look at Vodafone? Theyve pretty much got the best mobile broadband offering.

15 quid a month, 3Gb limit and 7.2 connection. USB stick modem. Much better coverage than any of the above.

needs to be a Huawei E220 modem for me.  Im using XP64 and OpenSUSE.  The Vodaphone stick wouldnt work under either, the E220 works flawlessly.  Also the £15 per GB if you go over ran me off.  I didnt get further than that before discounting it.

been using it since yesterday as ive no broadband at either house.  All i can say is that this is a great piece of kit.  Getting a 3.6Mb connecton, but it appears to scale the line speed to demand rather than just block off the full amount.  Causes a couple of slowdown, but when it comes down it, it is just a 3g modem not a hardwired ADSL.

Just waiting for BT to register my line at the new address so I can get my O2 broadband ordered :)
