Ive sent in 2 cancellation requests, emailed both etgs admin addresses and billing addresses, saying Ive cancelled, yet im still getting "suspension notice" emails for failing to pay the bill, and still no acknowledgement of any human presense at their end other than auto generated emails.

Glad Im jumping ship now.

 :whoops:

To be fair, I have no service problems whatsoever and I still would have recommended them at the time. Thees no loyalty factor involved, but at the same time I do need a considerable amount more space (talking gigabytes here) and my contract is almost due, so its a good time.

It would be nice if people made reccomendations based on real performace rather than stuff like "X is my e-friend and he works there".

No, the real problem is that weve all been using bedroom hosting companies for years and people have stuck with those recommendations because larger companies usually cost too much or are reasonably priced but offer complex business packages or packages not geared to a blog and photo gallery. That, or the best providers are based in the US.

Expectations have been kept pretty low by CreativeHell, [UGH] Hosting and all the small timers that give you webspace for a Ã,£2 a year.

What you mean to say... as we have done.

I recommended them because they have been on the ball whenever I needed support, the site has been stable aside from one or two bumps, but its been evident that the last month or so that this hasnt been the case, and I have since stopped recommending them to others.

Sara, I recommended them to you purely because they had been perfect for me since signing up with them 2 years ago. 2 years of great service is quite some background to base a recommendation on. Unfortunately theyve completely gone to sh*t the last few weeks though.

As I said in a previous post, pretty sure they have been bought out now, and if they have been bought out by who I think have bought them out they are and will go a lot more downhill.

If my "sources" are correct they got bought out by the same people who bought "creativehell" and we all know what problems happened there...

Mine say different ;) but theyve been bought out as far as im aware but not the company who bought creativehell but rather as a new acquisition to a provider of high speed transit, network planning, and corporate IT gubbins, based in the South East afaia.

When I suggested them everything was going great with my account. Since then they nearly missed renewing my URL and have been sending me daily spams for my trouble.

Until they sort that out Im certainly not going to reccommend them to anyone else.

Reliability wise they havent been too bad IMO
