Hi all, just after a little help, used to be a member on here years ago so thought this would be the best place to ask

Recently my sh*tty aopen machine stopped working, booted it up one morning and the computer started speaking to me telling me that there was a problem, now no image will be displayed (using the onboard vga, not tried with a gfx card havent got one knocking about)

So thinkin possibly that the mobo has blown ive stuck cpu ram hdd into a old Shuttle MN31N mobo but sitll getting the same problem

anyone any ideas???

Emil

tried swapping cpus as well and no luck

couldnt be anything to do wiht the psu could it?

Mongoose

do you get any beeps? or just nothing at all?

have you got any spare components so you can swap out bits and see if you get anywhere?

if youre running 2+ sticks of RAM perhaps try using just one of them

it could be PSU, if youre not getting power in the right places it wont work properly

Emil

thanks for reply guys!

got 2 1GB sticks, tried using 1 at a time with both and no change

no bleeps at all

only spare components i have is an extra 2400+ cpu and another mobo, but im gettin the same problem with the other motherboard too

personally i reckon its the PSU, is this possible even though it powers up with no display?

Emil

one thing i did notice which might be related was that a few days before it finally stopped displaying an image on the old motherboard was that the onboard ethernet port stopped working, windows just said the cable was unplugged and no lights showed up on it... possibly a sign of the psu going?? ended up having to use sh*tty usb with my cable modem
