How do I go about moving my websites away from godaddy?

I've got a handful of domains, and one hosting package for them all.
What's teh best way to go about this?

Do you want to move the sites, the domains, or both?

Transfer the files first and configure emails on the new hosting package, then repoint the domain to minimise downtime, then transfer domains.

What a ballache!

I want to move everything away.  Domains and Hosting.  My email is Google Apps.

It's not that bad. Surely?

I remember when I used to use some small company for hosting, I think it was a 1 man band, but he charged a fortune for not much in the way of services. Ended up moving to ETGS I think, but when I emailed to request closure of the account I basically got a reply of "You'll be sorry. You have till the end of the day and then everything gets removed from our servers" (Despite that I was paid up for a few weeks after that) I was tempted to email back saying that's just great service and justifying the move, and please keep the contents on the servers until my hosting runs out, or refund the difference :D

I would ask them to move you to the US datacentre (which is super reliable) if you're on the European one and don't want the hassle of moving everything. Its a ballache enough transferring domains without reconfiguring hosting, setting up databases again, etc.
