Righto, need an MP3 player for work ... not got a lot of money. I mean £50 tops!

I am confused, have seen the following;

Zen Stone Plus 2GB for £45

Archos do an MP3 player (looks like an iPod)

One I am really intrigued by is the Sumvision Sempra 2GB MP4 ... looks the part and has got some really good reviews. Also plays video ... for £36; do a search for it before you rule it out.

Now, what I want to know, what about sound quality? obviously that is what it is all about - the Sumvision I am really tempted by but hey, should I just be buying an iPod? I used to have one years ago (gen3) but thought it was crap, my portable cd player had far superior quality. Made no difference with better headphones.

Suggestions please, what would you buy?

The Sumvision players are quite good actually. You just have to be careful when buying as theres a lot that have chipped ram so its actually 0.5gb or 1gb when its should be 2gb. Apart from that though theyre cool little things and good value for the cash.
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

I bought a Zen Stone Plus for use in the gym. I was initially a little disapointed by the sound quality but that was quickly sorted by replacing the nasty ear buds that come with.

The only other problem with the Zen Stone (and its a PITA) is that the "random play all mode" gets reset everytime you turn the player off. So each visit to the gym I hear the same "random" songs in the same "random" order :/

Thats odd, my Zen Micro (knocking on 3yrs old now I think) has a great random function, and saves the last played song even after its turned off for a couple of days.

Yeah, saw those Sony ones too.  My only reluctance was the no screen thing going on.  Abit like the Ipod Shuffles.

I have to say I bit the bullet and bought the Sumvision player.  It is incredibly good for the money.  It is brushed aluminium on the back, front it high black polished plastic, with metal buttons.  Has a microSD slot on the bottom, so it has 2GB on board and additional 1GB max on card.  It plays videos incredibly well, music is superb too.  It also has tetris on it.  Built in speaker (not bad) and can record voice.   This is the best mp3 player I have ever seen for the cash ... tis superb!!!  As for longevity ... will tell you in a few months how its holding out.  But this is great value for money and would make a superb present.  Highly recommended!!!

Also, ordered from ebuyer at 15:45 yesterday and was delivery today at 08:00, get in!!!
