Title: MP3 Tag Reader Thing...
Post by: M3ta7h3ad on June 17, 2008, 15:03:36 PM
Is there any software out there that will do the following.

- Scan your mp3 collection
- Produce a file with Artist - Album listed.

I dont need "tracks" I need albums, and I need artists.

I need it to only list unique ones too. I dont mind removing a bunch of "splinter(1)" stuff, but if I see "splinter" listed 20 times I want the software to be smart enough to say "ah... he owns the album... splinter".

Windows does this
change to list view & select more details.

Youre saying that just by rearranging the view, itll create a text file (csv for example) containing "artist - album" and ideally how many tracks are owned of a particular album?

Surely not?

Use foobar (http://www.foobar2000.org/) as player and for above tasks and more and it is free.
Low on memory use can convert etc.

Use  Album List + Properties and blue in the quick set up at installation to begin with and you will be quite pleased :)
