Ello, Well My rear fan to my power supply has been making noises. On investigation I noticed for some reason the blades were catching parts of the power supply behind it, I had to rig something to pull the fan slightly outward to stop this, but it still made a buzzing noise and I think the Sleeve bearing went.
Its a newish power supply but on verge of warenty But taking it back getting box and all the bits and sending it off etc with no back up power supply is a pain in the ass to do.
I carefully removed the void sticky (it looks like not touched) and the outer scews have no spray etc.
I took the fan out (well my dad the lecky) And we noticed the fan blade part has actually cracked, so thats why the blades were now catching the bits behind it.
So its out and I have a tempory fan on the outside shooving the air and the main large fan still going in the power supply and I need a replacement as soon as.
Can you guys help? Its a slimline 80mml Fan and 2 pin connection
The specs on it are - Power cooler sleeve bearing 12vdc 0.35A

Have any you got one I can buy or a link to one I can buy asap so I dont overheat my power supply? :) I got it well cooled for now tbh but can do with a fan back in there at the back.
Thanks
measure how thick it is - guessing its 25mil if its pretty slim, then just pick pretty much any 80 mil fan :)
youll have to cut the 2 pin connector off that fan and join it onto the new one.
0.35amp is pretty powerfull for a 80mil fan... but I guess its speed/noise controled ? (or it would be noisy as hell) so pretty much any one will do :)

When You switch the computer off the powersupply send the fans to half speed for a 1 minute odd to cooldown before switch off, Want to avoid having to cut or chop anything if i can help it, yeah it is slim its more like 15mil
youve got pretty much no chance of finding one with the same connector on it :(
any 15mil thick fan should do, gimme a sec ti find some ;)
EDIT:
ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/80mm-PC-case-Cooling-fan-Slim-80x80x15mm_W0QQitemZ200038937515QQihZ010QQcategoryZ51064QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) thats the best I can find
same sixe, but has a 3 pin connector not 2.... might not have to chop them tho.... cometimes you can put a 3pin femail (fan end) onto a 2pin male (psu end) :)
The third connector in a modern fan is for telling the motherboard the speed, you dont need it. Get yer dad to chop the lead off the old fan and solder it onto the new, its an easy enough job.
They are normally very reliable and people tend to chuck the whole unit rather than repair so PSU fans just arent available.

Should do with a little mod.
I did one for my brother some time ago and it lasted a few years.

yep, that should do it
either chop and swap the connectors
or if your lucky they will have the same type of connectors so you can just fit it on and have one left sticking over the edge (will probably have a blue wire)
It arrived, it would not work putting the 3pin into the 2 pin though, will get my dad when he has a mo to re-wire and see if it works

I have on idential (I think) to the one you have in the picture...bought it for another PC related project (but not to go in a PC)...but probs wont use it now. Are you still looking for one or just going to mod this 3 pin fan?

If its 15mm Slim thick 80mm wide 2 pin, that would be cool, would save needing to mod this other and would send you this 2 pin if you wanted in return.
Photos possible to check dude?
