Right, i have:

1* Cable modem
1* Wireless Router
1* wireless USB dongle

2* computers

How do i get the net on both?

Can get the net on one just fine, by plugging the modem straight into the PC.  Plug the router into the modem and the pc into the router and i get sweet FA on both PCs.

Ideas anyone?

i assume all the USB drivers and the like are installed?

make sure the wireless is set to be visible (for 1st connection at least), make sure the access list has been set up, and also make sure the password is correct.  You may also need to run the Netwokr setup wizard to get things moving along.

With most routers you need to use a wire to set up your router initially to get it to work.

Also please tell me you didnt connect the pc up using the usb connector on the cable modem

Every time someone does that a kitten dies of despair.

Would help with what cable and what modem.

Chris

dont worry, im not a complete tard

Had everything as you would expect, with both PCs seeing the router etc.  Solved the issue by copying the mac address of the PC i connected to the modem with to the router.
