Hello :bounce:

Been a while since Ive posted. Got a query, Ive been reading about the new nintendo fitness wii thats due out on 25/04/08 and was quite in interested in purchasing one. The only thing is I dont want to go and buy one to find out its just a popular gimmick that doesnt do what is says on the box. So I just thought Id do a little poll to see what peoples opinions were and if they could suggest any alternatives (in a kind and non-sarcastic manner   -) lol)

Ciao for now xxx

If you get it using it just for gaming then you will be disapointed whereas if you get it to follow a fitness regime using it then it will be worthwhile.

Im planning on getting it just to see if it is any good. I dont have a Wii at the moment but Im hoping that I can sack off my £95p/m gym membership and use this along with a little run / cycle to stay in shape.

Dunno if that helps ?

If it makes you move itll help.  Just depends if you actually do it or not tbh.   Id guess its a gimmick but if you actually do it itll work.

the same could be said of walking, hoovering, swimming, playing frisbee, juggling, etc etc.

^ quite right.

I find the gym as boring as hell so Im hoping that combining gaming w/ doing some exercise will be enough to keep me involved for more than a couple of months at a time.

Miss_Kinky

Well thats what I thought  :nana:

Unfortunately I am one of those people that does get bored of exercise easily unless I do really enjoy it. I mean at the moment I have stuck to going belly dancing once a week cause I enjoy it but going on a plain old walk bores me and going to the gym as well.  I suppose if it doesnt suit me it can always be sold on ebay lol  :bounce:

i am still a little unsure how it is going to keep you fit, all youa re doing is basically standing on top of some bathroom scales and moving about..

im still going to get it cause it looks fun, not getting it to keep fit

ps: if i loose 2 stone after 2 months usage i will let you know :)

Its more than yoga ;)

edit:
Search youtube for wii fit boxing and wii fit snowboarding too.

There a quite a few options on it but the one thing that would probably bore me to begin with is the step toe dance arobic section all the others look quite ok. Guess when I do get it Ill have to get nige to measure its success with usually  :ptu: how many of these out of five lol.

May as well just get a ddr dance mat and stepmania. :)

Its a gimmick, but its worth a go cause im sure itll be fun. As a serious fitness thing? hell no.

10 pounds in seven weeks? Not bad I guess.
Good progress tbh.  It looks fairly typical for 30-60 mins of cardio every day for 2 months...  It really doesnt take long.

The only slightly odd thing is he didnt drop more weight at the start.  Id have expected him to lose an extra 2lb or so in the first week just purely from water loss.

edit: the usual target is 1-2lb a week weight loss when exercising so it looks like it does what it says on the tin (if you do it ofc)
