i had seen this post so many times on the old forums. but can not remember which ones they said.
doesn?t need to be wireless. better if its not.
modem connects via RJ45 so doesn?t need to work with USB.
unsure of what other info. If u need any please say :>
but i need something simple, and reliable more than anything.
which routers are being recommended at the moment ?
Netgear DG834 series is very reliable.
If you can wait a couple of days I should have a DG834v2 forsale as I have upgraded to a wireless version and am just waiting for it to turn up (tomorrow hopefully) :)
Compare a range of new-technology wireless routers at PCPro here (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/labs/75093/belkin-wireless-pren.html). The Belkin fancy one is their pick. A lot of their critique revolves around wireless range and speed though.
My Netgear DG834G, now superceded, has been OK.
Draytek Vigor. There is no better.
Linksys WAG354G here, so far its rock solid.

Seconded. I wouldent put anything else in for business customers: Ive never had one crash, or need a reboot every so often or any of the other niggles you get with cheaper routers.
And theyre proper routers to boot.
They are a bit on the dear side, but you can get fairly OK prices on fleabay - Id go for any of the V models - they have built in VoIP capability
an old pII some old 3com nics, a switch and a floppyfw (http://www.zelow.no/floppyfw/index.html) and youll have a safe system.
