Decided to bin the two massive 21" monitors in favour of one single 19" Widescreen TFT.

Unfortunatly, No DVI, but the monitor is cheap and saves me lugging the two behemoths to my new house.

Personally I wouldnt scrimp on a replacement monitor, I would have saved a bit back for a top notch Dell or similar.

All the reviews seem to point at this being quite nice.
And for the cost of it, its hardly a loss if I upgrade in the future.  I just want a bit more space.
Spec wise, I dont know how it looks :S

Theres also the Crystalbrite version, which is similar to the Sony screens, but it was double the cost of this one.

At Ã,£700 for a Dell 24" widescreen and Ã,£130 for my Acer, it makes no odds if I decide to spend a months wages on a monitor at a later date

Acers are one of those classic "good enough" bargains in the pooter world. Got one in front of me now. Stateside, another boring but always reliable brand is Emachines. People may snicker, but the repair and reliability histories of both brands is stellar.

Got my Acer AL1715 for under $200.

personally i would stick to a 19" TFT or two of a brand you have some decent reports about.  Ive found these Digimate monitors are actually better then the 19" LG ones we have at work.  Better picture, clearer screen, but the finish of the bezel isnt quite to the same standard.

I work with acer monitors day in day out, and never had a problem.
They look better in both build and image quality than the HP ones we use along side.

I recommend this Philips 20.1" WS TFT (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000BKHH2I/202-2961899-9725416?v=glance&n=560798).  Its has VGA and DVI.  Now Ã,£269.  Means if I had waited a few weeks I could have got it for Ã,£235.  Oh well :)

Ive got one of those but in standard size not widescreen - as I didnt really want a widescreen model - doesnt seem right to me for half the things I use mine for. Got to say I am pretty impressed - its a lot better than other cheapo monitors of the same price that Ive tried.
