Ok, Going to be getting one of the nice Samsung 40 inchers:
http://www.beyondtelevision.co.uk/thisProduct.asp?ID=861

But was hoping someone here could help in regard to the sound/dvd and wall bracket/stand (I say stand for the tv becuase we will be renting for a while in New Zealand)
I am currently looking for a nice 5.1 system to go with it but I am limited with the budget on this of around £100 may be at a push £120
I have found this:
http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct_clearancebargains&pid=JVC-THS33R

But wondering if anyone knows of something nice for around the price (non pc ones)

TBH I wouldnt bother at that price. That JVC is all over the place sonically (and not in a good surround way). Youd be far better getting a half decent DVD player and saving for a decent surround system. If you can scrap together around £500 you could get something that will blow you away compared to the nasty one box solutions.

If youre desperate to get surround get the cheapest you can find and make do until you have the funds for something decent as the difference between bargain basement and the cinema-in-a-box from JVC, Sony etc is really minimal. I ran a Videologic set for a couple of years until I got my Mordaunt Short speakers and Denon amp and it did fine and sounded just as good as the stuff I was selling with big names on it.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Electric stuff is a little more expensive over there, It is better for us to get some bits before we go over, LCD wise as well better shipping wise then taking a crt as well as cheaper here oddly enough considering were rip of britain

It is a little odd, tv is miles cheaper, internet is f**ked for the moment but will be better then the uk in a few months, phone is cheap as hell, food works out about same, living cost is about the same, sport like going to a sports match etc is miles cheaper, travel is cheaper, cars are cheaper

Cost of living and earnings is less but then other things make up for it etc, it is a little odd in comparison up and down in areas but overall better
Ill do a post in a month about how it is going, should have my visa soon.

Thanks for the info Goblin but I am limited and the current lot is going with the tv as a set so will need something so if someone finds a nice one that would be cool

Id go seperates. Get a decent 2.0/2.1 and seperate DVD player then expand to 5.1 later with more cash. Or as Gobbers says - the voice of experience - save and go for something better. Youll be left underwhelmed otherwise.

The JVC set probably wont be terrible given the TSP price if youre really content with that price budget range.

What size living room will this go into?

You could always spring for something like this:

Youd be laughing.

Jaitsu

if i was buying a theatre kit i would be looking at pioneer and nothing else

had them on in work and the sound quality is amazing, without blowing a load of cash as well

With the budget we got We have gone for the following:

And of course the tv: http://www.beyondtelevision.co.uk/thisProduct.asp?ID=861

Yeah I agree with you guys about pioneer etc but are limited to funds and this set does seem quite good in a few reviews I have read.
