as above really, has anyone played with Hardy Heron yet?
Is 8.04 worth the upgrade from 7.10?
The upgrade bricked our test box/music player in the office. So no, not played with it yet :/
Got it installing into a virtual machine for now and all seems to be fine so far. There are a few issues with the updater but that is due to the VM bogging down atm.
Another stupid name then.
Waste of Time is the name of V9 apparantly.

Because Long Horn is such a sensible name.
Seems pretty similar to the previous version atm, though Ive not had a proper play yet (though as expected it comes with newer versions of all the apps). One major bonus is that its an LTS version, so will be supported for a long time.

thats one of the reasons Im interested. Also my laptop is a mess and the partitions are not as sensible as they initially seemed so Im thinking of wiping it and starting afreash. Ive also got to build a box for my grandparents shortly, which is probably going to be Ubuntu based, all nicely automated and remotely controlable so I can administer it from afar. Im damned if Im going to learn how Vista works just so I can fix my grandparents machine.
I tried the Kubuntu KDE 4 re-spin.
KDE 4 needs a LOT of work before Ill use it over 3.5.9.

A lot of distros seem to agree with you, in that it seems to be an option on many but not standard anywhere Ive noticed (granted I havent looked that hard).
No.
