Shakey

Does it actually start within 2 minutes of clicking the icon now?

Sam

Sorry do people still use that program?

Good old Winamp. This version is good, the only thing I dont like is not having the playlist as a separate window to the big media library thing. Still does the job for me a damn sight better than any of the other players on the market, and knocking it back to the classic skin gives it a tiny memory footprint.

Sam

Ah the good old memory argument. Well I can live with the extra 20 bytes that itunes or WMP uses up on my 4gig system.

I dont think your sarcasm is obvious enough sam.

Like/dislike is subjective.

I just like it, personal taste. Ive tried a multitude of others and always end up back with Winamp, no particular reason including the memory one. It just does what I need it to.

I prefer winamp to WMP and Itunes, because of the easy to use queueing system.  DJing at a party?  Press J to enqueue different songs :D

I went off it as soon as it turned into ad filled bloatware.

Foobar is the best music player, WMP is good as a jack of all trades.

When did Winamp get ads in it? I must have missed that one....  :?:

Some time around version 3 Im sure.

Maybe Im inventing it, but I seem to clearly remember having to switch off a load of internal browser ad based crap as soon as it loaded up. And it was buggy and had a crap interface.

AOL run it now dont they rather then the original guys?
AOL likes bloated software, use bandwidth for random crap you do not want and like to have lots of hidden things running in the background

only if you are retarded enough to tick everything and not read what your installing.
