This is going to be soooooo bad but then I still hope it is very good.

There is a few things that will make it good or just very very bad but when We here Goku shout - KAMAHAMA HA!  if your going, yeah "Nuke the bastard", then your enjoying it but if your going sitting their grinding your teeth it is time to walk out the cinema.

The Brazilian Job:
the follow up to Paramount's US remake of The Italian Job is still on the cards, and it's got a 2009 release date marked. Jason Statham, Mos Def, Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron are attached, as is director F Gary Gray. Deleayed due to the writers strike pushing back TV shows and movies and movies after them alike.

I, Robot 2:
It's still in the scripting stages still, with a potential 2010 release date planned in. No news on Mr Smiths involvement.
If Smith is in it - I am all for this I liked I robot and thought there was more on it with the robots leading for rights etc.

Beverly Hills Cop 4:
seeing the success of Rambo and Die Hard 4.0 this is in the works and Eddie Murphy Returns. If it like 1 and 2 - great, if it is like 3 - no thanks.

National Treasure 3: Not a huge surprise, but as the Nic Cage Indiana Jones knock off franchise has proved to be quite a juggernaut, you'll only have to wait until 2011 for the third film in the series.


Toy Story 3:
Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are both expected back on voicing duties. It'll be out in 2010. IT MAY be straight to DVD as it seems not the main Pixar team is doing it, what is happening at Pixar these days is they have bought and created a number of small spin off studios where they plan to delegate jobs for TV shows and sequels to some of their movie concepts. I hope they do the full hog.

Shrek 5:
The fourth film was a no-brainer after the tepid third outing made so much cash. But a fifth instalment has also been confirmed. No wonder Shrek is the same colour as an American dollar...

Ben Stiller is returning And I think this will be good, the first movie was actually quite good and did very well.

Crank 2: High Voltage:
Mentioned in this thread already - He has his what is now super heart nicked as he is still alive after his fall and replaced with a electronic heart that needs recharging all the time as he tries to get his heart back which is in now some mob / triad boss.
First was high Mad and great so will be good.

Transporter 3:
Statham again. He's making this too, and it's in pre-production. He is shooting Crank 2 now and will go straight on to this  -> He is going to be very bruised up etc.

A surprise hit last year, Marvel is developing a follow-up to the Nic Cage comic book flick, and tentatively has 2009 marked for release. No director is thus far attached.
The first was good but did not really touch on any of the story much so this will hopefully expand on it

The Untouchables: Capone Rising:
A prequel to Brian De Palma's cracking prohibition thriller of, er, twenty years ago. De Palma is back behind the camera, and the project is in the pre-production stages now. Now The Untouchables was amazing so will be interesting to see how this pans out.

The Thomas Crown Affair 2:
Weird, this. It's taken them ages to do a sequel, and then they draft in Paul Verhoeven to direct a follow-up to someone else's film. Pierce Brosnan returns, and filming starts shortly. I did not mind the first tbh and the first did quite well.

The People Under The Stairs 2:
No sign of any Wes Craven involvement, though, and release may even be this year. Hmmm. Straight to DVD

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor:
The Mummy 3, which is out on 1st August. Brendan Fraser and Jet Li star. No whatsername since she had filming and life conflicts or something but his son returns and with Jet you have a china style mummy.

Punisher: War Zone:
Ray Stevenson becomes the third person to play The Punisher on screen. You'll be able to find out how he did on 12th September this year. FLOP!

Starship Troopers 3:
Marauder: Casper Van Diem is back as mentioned earlier in the thread - WOOHOOOO!!! but it's still going straight to DVD, as the piss-awful second film did. It's due out later this year and so wil probably be crap as well.

Pink Panther 2:
Oh dear.
Steve Martin fan. It's out on 13th February 2009.

Ace Ventura 3:
No Jim Carrey though, and straight to DVD - FLOP!

War of the Worlds 2:
The Next Wave: Another straight to DVD sequel,And out on the net, Watched first 10 minutes to see - UTER UTER GARBAGE!


Jurassic Park 4:
It's taken them ages to sort this out, but the latest is that Laura Dern is still attached, and that it'll be released in 2009. Don't hold your breath though, as shooting would need to start really very soon... And will probably flop

Scary Movie 5:
Of course, there are still horror movies to take the piss out of

Saw 5:
New Killer but jigsaw is still in it in terms of back in time flashes, voice and other stuff

Ive been following the sequel to Descent 2 for some time now as I loved the original film, and Im not too sure itll live up to the original. Apparently its going to pick up from where the US release left off, not the proper British release (the British release had Sarah escape the cave, then receive a scare and she wakes up back in the cave, the US release ends with the scare so she has escaped). So for those of us that know and love the UK version its going to be a tad confusing. That said Shauna MacDonald and Natalie Mendoza are back on board so at least they are keeping the cast consistent, hopefully itll be pleasantly surprising.
