Anyone played it?

Ive loved all the NFS games in the past few years - but Ive heard bad things about this one. I also played the demo and wasnt at all impressed with the control, it felt like the car was either controlling itself or that I didnt have any control at all, depending on the setting I used.

I should be playing it within a day or two so Ill post my thoughts.

A friend says pro street proper game is nothing like the demo, and the demo really lets it down, ive not got a chance to get into town yet to buy it, but i have most of the others, i love n4s games

A mate got it when he bought his 360, and since i played on it I bought it.

Its a mix between forza2 and NFS underground, you can tune your car (and if you wanna be the best.. you have to) including all the little details like cam timings and gear lengths, but once youve done that it still feels quite arcadey.

I really like it tbh, having fun in career mode atm, but I have tried it online and it seems good (quite a good online community too).

The reason the demo was probably crap is because you really need to customize your car (lots of money) before it starts getting amazing, even just picking the right car.

I like it anyway, playing it a lot more than i played pgr4.

Cool, I shall look forward to it.

PC Version is very very buggy :s

Had a little play, not overly impressed. Seems more like a racing sim than an arcade game.

Still not happy with the controls but it might take me a while to get used to em.

Having just got a 360 and a fan of the car racing genre, I recently got Burnout Revenge.  Now I have heard that Forza and PGR4 are a bit to simulated than arcade like.  Burnout Revenge on the other hand is a superb game.  Visually looks superb and gameplay is awesome and great fun.  Not played it on live yet, but it is supposed to be very good.  If you have not had a go on BR yet, I would urge you to do so.  I picked mine up second hand off the bay for £11 and love it.  There is a new Burnout game coming out in Jan so that is a must have game for me.  NFS - Pro Street, I was very tempted by, but have heard very average things about this.

Ive got futher into the game, and its feeling a little more like an arcade game. Shame I have to stick all the settings on low, AGP is really beggining to show its age.

I think NFS ProStreet has this really weird realism curve, where it starts off, very simulation-ish, nearly on par with forza but then gets steadily more and more arcadey and for a while the balance is really good and fun, but then it comes to a point where youre doing 5 second quater miles in a souped up zonda making it do wheelies, and its just ridiculous.

I cannot understand, for the life of me, how if you buy a £700,000 zonda, which is, lets face it, one of the best cars available? You can stick some shabby aftermarket parts in it and double its speed and horsepower?

Stupid, kinda ruined the game. Online play is a bit poo aswell, but I have had a good few hours with it.

Bought it for my pc, what i think of it so far:

It crashes a lot on my system, and for some reason sometimes it doesnt save what ive done so i lose a whole nights playing :P

I also find it not as easy to follow as the other games in the series, i get to the races before the first showdown and get beat by the same car in drag thats running far less break than mine, dont understand that really.

tbh i think they have lost the fun factor of free roam also, and the modding side seems a bit limited in some respects like bodykits etc, but plenty of wheels but then scrolling through all of them is boring as hell, and the vinyls/decals menus, who wants to sit there for 4 hours checking all those.

tbh, i bought 2 games since i quit wow and both have sucked.

what now? an xbox 360 again i guess
