Quote from: neXusI think Sci Fi big wigs thinking that its costing them to much money and wanting it canned

11:30 US time is a little late and viewing figures are a little low in the us and tbh I think it is becuase of the time slot.

Space above and beyond 12am-1am US and 1am-2am UK time they had that on all the time trying to have a reason to can it.

They really are stupid arent they, I mean who in there right mind would put what is known to be a good show that people like, and they have the viewing figures in the past to prove it, that late at night when most people are in bed or at least heading that way.  And why? So they can bung on some repeats or something.

It really gets my goat when they do this sort of thing because it just doesnt make any sense at all.  Now if only I had as  much money as Bill Gates, Id buy the sci-fi channel and sort it out.

Quixoticish

I think BSG has such a large following that if Sci-Fi dropped it someone else would pick it up. There is far too much money in it to let it drop.

Try 9/8c (9pm Eastern time/ 8pm Central).  Not 11:30.

It was 10/11c when Atlantis and SG-1 are showing as part of Sci-Fi friday and Gallactica followed afterwards.  When they resume I imagine it will take that slot again.

Personally I think your letting your imagination run ahead of itself with the whole being canned thing.

BigSoy

The numbers are all that counts - if they arent getting the figures and hence the advertising revenue, it might get canned, if they are making a good return on investment then chances are it will continue.
"Within your 'purview'? Where do you think you are, some f**king regency costume drama? This is a government department, not some f**king Jane f**king Austen novel!"

Cypher

It has had good ratings so far.

Where nexus is getting all this low ratings, 11pm slot, its going to be canned is anyones guess.

Sci-fi main us site and actual listed times
and
http://savestargatesg1.com/news/?p=443#comments
several other links also report a drop and some put it down to the time slot

This weeks is at 9 but last friday it was on 11:30

As for time and drops, 4 top sci-fi shows had the same problem where because sci-fi did not think for what ever reason it would work out they move to poor and more awkward time slots. Startgate they actually tried, firefly they did from the get go as when they got the budgit costs straight the way they tried to stop the season even being finished.

Apperently it seems there is a big campaign to get the two main guys of sci-fi removed. I cant find the link I read the other night but there were leaks of their earnings and personal profits compared to funding and basically they are lumping it in

Though battlestar will not get canned sci-fi are pissing of Sky since they have money invested in that show and apperent arguments (sky forums) about showings in the us have been around between the two.

Sky taking up stargate though from http://savestargatesg1.com is actually a good idea and there are other top new channels In america, smallville being on rebranded "the CW" for example would be a good place to host the show.

And its odd There has been a few approaches for season 2 firefly to be on other companies and channels but Sci-fi would not release the rights they have, Also Farscape had similar approaches and again Sci-fi holding out and  the mini series to end it nearly did not go ahead.

There is a big deep rooted anouance from viewers with regard to sci-fi US and many a site with information around.

Just watched 3x04 Exodus Pt2...

  Probably one of the greatest BG eps Ive ever seen. I wont mention any particulars yet but suffice to say its got some pretty big developments!

Also about SG1..

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news06/061013a.php

QuoteMGM has granted a green light -- and enough money -- to produce two "Stargate: SG-1" movies, most likely for DVD, executive producer Brad Wright tells TV Guide.

The first flick will tie up most of the finales loose threads -- "Its the climax of the Ori story line" -- and will be written-directed by exec producer Robert Cooper. The second film, penned by Wright, will involve time travel, and both projects should debut in the fall of 2007.

Though no deals are signed, SG-1s stars are said to be "very eager" to continue. "Theyre not big-budget [films] by any definition, but for us its pretty good. As weve proven over the years, just give us little more money and we can make pretty good television, or DVDs" says Wright.

Back On topic, Episode 4 - WOW that was just really cool episode

TBH battlestar is one of the most real (if you get me) scifi shows ever done and is very stylish and gritty, its just 10/10 for me

Quote from: neXusNice bit of info that, And if they had both running they would have money for nice new sets.

Made a correction to my post.  It wasnt the firefly set is was a set from a scrapped pilot from what going to be a Lost In Space television series.  It was dropped by Fox.

Just came accross the video blog that I remembered if from in the first place.

Serious

either ask some people and use statistics or pay some people so they can spy on their TV useage.

I have to say, this is probably the best sci-fi series I have watched since firefly in terms of enjoyment and wanting more.
Episode 4 was really exciting with the escape and galatica coming down from the sky etc.
Episode 5 was really well written really gritty, the story was outstanding at how it dealt with the so call traitors, you would think they may let off or be caught in the act when the guy is about to be ejected out the tunnel, but no out he goes.
Even overcrowding existed and people were broken.
I cant wait to see where they take the series.

I really hope this has some legs in it and they get at least 2 more series out of it. They have to get to earth and you cant stretch that to much and as the original one had it went to crap when they got there.
I do not know how you would handle them getting to earth but it could be interesting.

Good stuff tbh, this and lost at the moment as cheered me up when I have failed to sleep due to my hand.

Side note:
If you are able watch the latest episode of south park season 10, cartman and wanting a wii, lol.

BUCK FTW!

I personally dont think they will find Earth.  Thats not what the series has been about, its been about the journey rather than the destination.

Its all up to Ron Moore really.
