More PS3 Downgrades On The Way?

Well consider this rumor and speculation for now, but if these downgrades pan out, I expect some folks will have an even harder time justifying that $600 investment.

Basically the big thing is the bits dont fit in the case and they may end up doing a fully external PSU

Cell chip i think is good but needs a big pc case and lots of cooling to do what they say it can do, perhaps only really have a home in movie render machines or servers.

Yields are crap and as you say lower and lower specs.

I bet you anything on release you will have a load of reports of it overheating, I can see stories of people touching the console and it beeing really hot

I have no dout it will be sorted, but not by the release date, and if they are sticking to it I wouldnt by one even if i wanted one.

would be amusing if all the "leaked informant" stuff is actually all lies

it is actually ready to be shipped but they feel like making microsoft feel comfortable

doubt it somehow though

i wont be buying one for a good few years if i ever do

tis all just speculation tbh....

even if it does have an external power supply it is hardly a massive issue - so long as the games work & the thing does as it is supposed to then does anyone really give a flying f**k

wait and see when it gets released - Id be very sceptical about rumours from industry insiders - put it this way if I worked in marketing at MS Id be spreading rumours on the internet about sonys console being sh*te too

I dont thinkit really matters about this extra bad press... there is already enough going against them at the moment. I think Sony are going to be in for a hard start esp with the news about stocks.
