My 18 month contract expires in the next few months and Im not quite sure what to do.

I currently have a Samsung i8510. Im paying £35 per month which allows 600 minutes and unlimited text messages on o2.

Im perfectly happy with the phone, it does pretty much everything I need. Should I bother getting a new handset, or try and wrangle the price down? If anything Id like a few more minutes included, maybe reduce the messages as I rarely use more than 100 per month.

If I do go for a new handset, any suggestions? I want to be able to watch films, play music, web-browse, and maybe take a few pics.

I was looking at the HTC HD2, but it seems to have a few problems and is still very expensive. Also I got the phone from CarephoneWarehouse, but havent had any contact with them other than the initial purchase, my bill comes from o2 - who will try to ring me?

I just got a HTC Tuch HD2 on vodafone as my personal mobile for the same money, with 900 minutes, 3000 SMS, and unlimited internet.

Oh yea, lol.

Not quite used to the touchscreen yet, but thats because I spend most of my time on a blackberry.

Ive always wondered what unlimited internet means. Is that the same as the dongle deals I see around? Meaning no need for a wifi hotspot?

Just got my missus the N97 mini, and I love it. I want one for myself really. Thats on Vodafone, 600mins, unlimited text and internet. £25/month, with 11 months half price.

I think fair use applies, but at the same time I wonder just how much you could feasably download through 3G etc.

My mum wanted me to help set up the bluetooth on her phone yesterday and I was pressing her screen wondering why nothing was happening till I remembered it wasnt a touchscreen :D

The o2 simplicity sim currently on offer

30 day contract = 600 minutes, 1400 texts and unlimited internet (which according to their terms is 200mb a month)

Not bad for £20 and no long contract, just buy a phone on the bay.

Im currently bidding on Samsung Jets and then ill bundle that sim with it.

Judging by the solid pricing of 2G and 3G on Ebay now that 3GS is out i dont think you would have trouble selling either 3G/S when the 4G comes out.

Personally though i would wait until at least January 27th

Im on Dolphin 35 with Orange + Unlimited (500mb) data.

I can get through the whole 500mb in a month.  I have exceeded it a couple of times with no issues.

O2 will normally give you something like £100 if you dont take a handset.  Thats what happens with the wife.

White Giant

£100 would be nice, help towards the new flat too.

My current phone is going for over a ton on Ebay, and eighty odd on the recycle sites, might as well get a new phone and sell this one?

Mark

vodafone, the swines, have an FUP of 500MB

My mobile data easily exceeds 10GB a month. Looks like Im keeping the work dongle!

Blackberry 9700?  Or if 3G doesnt matter to you an 8910 (Not out yet, but basically an 8900 with a trackpad instead of a ball).  If youre on Orange they even bundle Telmap Navigator for free if you pay over £35 per month.  The flip side to the Blackberry Ive found is that I rarely text anyone but the wife now.  I e-mail or MSN pretty much everyone, and Ive gone from using about 700 SMS per month, to under 100!
