Why not wait and see if there is any detriment to your service.  You will still be on Pipexs infrastructure for the time being.

I am on Pipex and staying put for the time being.  If they mess me around I shall be moving to Be* who are cheap and good apparently.  Assuming your exchange is adsl2+ enabled you should check them out.

Beaker

im _trying_ to get Be Installed at the moment, though because my number isnt recognised by the system its a bastard nighmare!

should get 18-22Mb where I am, but it does depend if your local exchange has been unbundled or not.  SamKnows will be able to tell you that :)

neXus

I do not know if it is just coincidence or not but I have started to have no end of problems with my connection and its been solid for ages

Madrocker

mine has jumped up 400K in the last 3 days.
Have not had any problems sofar.

I ordered Be Unlimited at 3pm today.  Just got an email saying that activation is on 1st August.  Now THAT i call good service, I was expecting it to take at least 10 days!

mr_roll

I am actually with Tiscali...

I aint had any problems although they are monitoring my useage closely as I seem to download to much stuff. BAH!

But once the connection is running then I aint had a lot of problems.

mr_roll

Although I have called their Tech support and Billing depts. and they are about as useful as a kick in the balls

The only difference I have noticed is that one or two web pages, ie bbc news, forums etc.  Wouldnt load a page untill after 2-3 refreshes.  While other pages were working fine.

Its done this one or two nights now.  Recently I really havent been using much bandwidth other than checking e-mail/forums/news and other bits and bobs.

heh, wonder if they have moved you over to Tiscalis less-than-working DNS servers.  They suck mightily, LOADS of Tiscali users calling me up complaining their system is timing out when trying to connect to websites.

Poison_UK

My torrents are starting to go arse up... Think I will be looking for a move ASAP!!

If thats the case Ill just point my DNS at a handy address I have.

Ive been looking for an excuse to move.  Not that Im paying it but £17 for 512Kb sucks major ass.

Cypher

Ive just sent customer services this query...

QuoteHow will the recent aqquistion of pipex by tiscali affect the quality of my service.  Recently I have found pages such as bbc news, will not load untill after 2-3 attempts while others carry on fine.  Surely a DNS issue?

Surely putting the company into the hands of a rival with a less than fantastic reputation for quality of service, both cutomer &   is not a great buisness decision?  When I signed up to pipex, tiscali was a supplier I dissmised after being warned of them very strongly.  IE continuing to charge after cancellling, poor line reliability etc.  The works.

I have to be blunt to say I am less than impressed so far.

On another topic, I am confused why My Services page says I am on 1Mb when I am testing the bandwith to less than 512Kb.

On another note, I just spotted some e-mail in my pipex webmail, I never really check it, 2 back from feburary rofl.  If its real I find it slightly insulting.  My lines to slow to even consider doing such illegal acts.
