It just constantly buffers with anything I throw at it. tried both hardwired & wireless.
IF the nowTV hack still works, you can install Plex on them. not bad for £9.99


THere is also other streaming options with client on roku & server on PC that also transcodes.
That still buffers - so its all down to the roku

Its been shipped but not arrived yet.

I'm having trouble finding conclusive information on if it will work outside of my LAN or not. Will update as soon as I've set it up.

Thanks, the NowTV was delivered today so I will be installing Plex tonight.

Whats the difference between the linked version and other Plex for Roku versions? I havent heard of rarflix before.

Arrived today, had it setup in under 5 minutes using this guide.

For £10 the NowTV is astounding, on of the most responsive interfaces I've used.

Tested streaming SD and 720 HD on the local network and at a friends and both were faultless. I set the quality to 2mbps 720p in plex and had no buffering with 60mb Virgin on both sides of the connection.

My HP microserver seems happy to transcode HD to a remote plex and play XBMC locally at the same time.

I'm amazed by it, will be testing at my parents house this weekend.

I also bought a now TV and it's pretty good, although was trying to watch a tv episode the other day on the local network and it refused to direct play so my server had to do the hard work, however my tv itself would direct play over DLNA without any encoding on the server. Remote even on SD it seemed to struggle a little at one point buffering a chunk for about a minute although played fine after that. It's good for the price but not quite sold on it
