Im curious whether anyone here buys games, plays them, and then trades them in once completed etc? (Im a bit of a hoarder).

Im asking as Im trying to figure out a good time to head down to blockbuster after chrimbo in the hopes of picking up the games people got for christmas and have since traded in. Im thinking a week would be about right, but that puts us right into the start of the Jan sales.

Picked up some good stuff on pre-owned but had probably 50% issues with the discs, but my local Blockbuster swaps them over with no hassle.

I tend to pick up second hand games for a couple of quid at Gamestation and CEX.  Gamestation is good because they dont accept games that might be linked to a Windows Live or Steam account.  CEX are good for giving you the money back if they stuff up with it, but they dont check.  You dont get much for 2nd hand PC games though.

Well so far Ive never had any issues with pre-owned xbox games. The only issue I had was Dawn of War 2 for PC , NEW, which involved 3 trips to a local HMV as the first time the cd key had been activated, the 2nd time it turned out the guy replaced the disc and not the manual = same cd key, 3rd time the guy actually swapped the whole thing. Ive had maybe 3 dozen pre-owned 360 games without issue, and have bought maybe 3 pc games NEW in the same time period, 0% fail vs 33%!

I buy all my games pre-owned because well... its cheaper with no disadvantages.

I do however horde games myself so never trade them back in.

Always buy second hand games from Amazon Marketplace and only ever had one out of thirty or forty that was damaged and badly described. Contacted Amazon as the person wouldnt reply and they sorted me out with a refund. And I always sell old games on the Marketplace as well, in fact Ive just made £65 flogging the games I picked up with my PS3 slim after my PS3 borked.
