Sony at TGS anounced their PS3 Game prices this week at a stonking $100 for the us which is about Ã,£52, with th euk price hike that i bet will mean Ã,£55-Ã,£60 games.

considering the fact they are already talking of over Ã,£750 if you buy all the tracks and cars for Gran Turismo then i wouldnt be surprised at Sony really going to town on the prices TBH.
Ã,£50 youll spend with a little thought, but much more than that and you are sending the prices of a console and 5 games (the supposed average number of brnad new games people buy per year) well into the territory of a high-end PC.
There will be many fan boys out there who pay it and the Japan folk will have it a little cheaper but both US and UK at leas for the most part as a general market will be put off, and looking at the finally playable games (not in the ps3 box mind) They dont look miles ahead of the 360 for the cost of the machine. Yes it can play hi def movies but so soon can the 360 and in a better rez as well And I dont even think Blue ray will be that sucessfull.
Sony just keep shotting themselfs in the foot and the leg and thats a shame, some nice games that will play well are going to be on the machine but if you sit there looking at metal gear solid at Ã,£65 and Splinter cell for Ã,£40 I would pick splinter cell on 360.
I remember seeing snes games around Ã,£50-60 back in the days. People will pay that.

Oops, I was thinking of n64, this woulda been around 96-97ish. snes never used to be too bad iirc, I got stuff like s.metroid & mk for peanuts seccy hand.
