Did not know till looking on you tube that you can dowgrade now, eloader still works with 1.5 adn through that it seems you can downgrade

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTSXxHTX6z0&mode=related&search=

Down the right are other videos showing it as well

Basically it seems to force a coruption of the firmware and make it restore 1.5

Deaths Head

You still need access to a 1.5 to be able to perform the downgrade.  I think he missed that slightly important bit on the video...

Some files need to be retrieved from the 1.5 before its possible to do the downgrade, the files are illegal in the US thus not released with the downgrader.

Deaths Head

Out of interest,  who here has a 1.5 PSP?

Thing is, this downgrader has come about because an exploit has been found that allows 2.5 and 2.6 users kernal access. Kernal access was the thing that allowed 1.5 users to run more homebrew, so with kernal access available on 2.5/2.6, there is no real reason to downgrade as you should be able to do all the same things as you can on 1.5 but with the added features of 2.5 or 2.6 firmware. The only difference is that you still need GTA to use the exploit on 2.5/2.6.

OK, quick read, you just need eloader and this tool, and thats it, but I have only read how original 1.5 kernal upgraded to 2.6 can be downgraded, dont know about when you buy and it is more.

Reading qnet forums and a couple of other googles, it seems early versions of this only worked if you wnet from 1.5 to 2.6 then back again, but this new one is says goes straight from 2.6, dont know, would have to have somone confirm but watching the other videos on youtube a guy says his never had 1.5 when he got it and got it to downgrade.

Deaths Head

No, he never had a 1.5 but he still had the files that are needed from a 1.5 PSP...  There is a helper file which either decrypts/decompresses the 1.5 update eboot file or its saving files directly from the 1.5 firmware on the psp.  Either way, he still needs those files which he obviously got elsewhere.

My sense of timing is impecible!

Poison_UK

Ive still got the v1.5 files I think.... Also the v1 files

Deaths Head

I doubt very much the files you say you still have will be the same files that this program creates on a 1.5 :-/

Poison_UK

I used to downgrade a lot, it was a single file... On a harddrive in this room somewhere will find them...

Deaths Head

Ah, I understand what you mean.  What version is your PSP currently at?

Poison_UK

The sold version... Really did not like that thing at all :(

Im a Virigin 1.5 owner ;)

Deaths Head

And Im now playing homebrew on a 1.5 :)

Devhook is awesome for allowing you to run newer firmwares without actually upgrading. :)
