They are a russian release that is intended to reduce piracy.
They are filmed in cinemas like telecines and cams but it is done officially so the sound is usually taken digitally and the quality of the equipment used is much better.

They are released in Russia as DVDs way before the official DVDs in an attempt of stop people buying pirated versions.

R5 is russian DVD rip, however they have Russian audio so they use the audio from other sources for these releases. Visuals tend to be ok but audio can be patchy.

any R5s with English audio sourced from elsewhere will have R5.LiNE added. Otherwise, English audio is directly off the DVD.

Its all very well for the Russian market putting these cheaper DVDs out, but its only damaging their market in the US/Europe/Asia, where DVD-Quality movies like Die Hard 4 and Oceans 13 are available to download illegally months before Official release.

In effect, the Movie Industry is giving us better quality illegal versions, quicker than ever
