If the modem goes down  due to power loss and then comes back on it automatically reconnects as it should and the situation looks perfectly normal. It gets pages OK, no problem visiting sites and downloading, and then I try to post on these forums and the page just hangs after pressing to submit button. Same thing happens trying to sign into hotmail or yahoo.

pulling the power and restarting the compy works but Im still no further forward in finding out why it does that.

It isnt the wi-fi as a cabled compy does the same thing too.

If its a netgear ADSL router (DG834-variant) I had exactley the problems. I never found a solution either !

Logging into the router and doing a soft restart sometimes clears the problem but not always !
