Ive got that Dell keyboard, + a backslash key in the appropriate location

Quite like it actually, other than the fact I smashed the raising feet off the back in a fit of Pro-Evo related rage.

theyre not british keyboards, change the layout to UK english and they have no backslash  :shock:

in american english, they have no pound sign and the @ is above number 2  

pure contempt for them i have, and the missing backslash is infurating on the bosss new machine because being windows network, network shares are quickest to get to using "\\machine-name\c$\" - GAHHH

Theres nothing wrong with dell products. My 24" TFT is awesome.

Indeed, my home PC, monitor, work laptop etc is all Dell, and its all fairly bullet-proof tbh.

Monitors are superb too, couldnt believe the difference in colour definition on this dell to the previous cheapy 17" I had.

just cause its got a dell badge on it doesnt automatically make it equal to everything else, bit like the ferrari badge on the acer laptops

theyre monitors are good value for money, a few well discussed firmware issues but at the end of the day they they usually use samsung panels and their own driving logic and produce a good to great monitor.


that keyboard though, im sure decided it cost 5% less to do international / british layouts and just went "close enough, ship it"  :cry:

Dell monitors are good, mind I wouldnt buy a full PC off them. Keyboards are really a personal preference. Mine is for an old style IBM heavyweight for games and a M$ natural for typing.

those rock. I had one for years as my PC repair keyboard.  If you cant fix the board then you simply pick up the keyboard and beat the box with it.  The box normally comes off worse

Those keyboards rock! they tend to cost a sh*tload nowerdays as manual switched stuff always does. The majority of modern keyboards are now all membrane pieces of crap.

Theres nothing more beautiful than the sound of a dozen uni students in a computer lab typing away on those behemoths.

Im a heavy typer and even find I have to move my microsoft natural keyboard back every now and again if im on an essay or something. It just gradually gets pushed further and further away.

Another benefit with those old boards, is that they used to have solid metal backing plates to them. Weighed a hell of a lot more than the plastic crap you get now.

Serious if thats your keyboard, keep a hold of it as long as you can lol its a gem!

It is and it still works! Cost me 50 pence BTW about 8 years ago  :mrgreen:

Bit of a problem though as the cable is an old 5 pin Din connector rather than the PS2 but I have a converter somewhere that will hopefully fit

the one thats the same as the original dell picture at work simply wont work as intended with a british layout  

jesus I have literally 75 of those old clackety clack keyboards at work that will be getting thrown out soon!
