Title: RIP E3
Post by: neXus on August 01, 2006, 11:05:05 AM
ESA has annnounced it is killing off E3 as it is, it will be going from 60+k people to around 5k :/
It will also move to a new location and will take place later in the year in JULY.

I can understand costs and the possible other wrangles mentioned in the links but i mean why?
I can understand the fact that the games to some point got lost, I mean purepwnage showed it well with that stupid dancing and band thing with regard to a war game in their E3 special.
Booth babes they did try to ban a couple of years back but the out cry got them back.
I think its a little to drastic, they should have just set some rules about things, maybe scale it down a little and limit the people coming in (to many public people still got it and to many people "in the idustry" this could have been improved and if need be some entry fees for some etc.

Its got bigger since its birth and you can not question the media coverage for games and products - You show something off at E3 and if looks anything half decent people will talk about it all over the place for ages till more news on it comes out.

This is I think bad :(
