NEW YORK —  Actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in what authorities say is a possible drug-related death, the NYPD said. He was 28.

NYPD spokesman said that Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment that is believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there, and found him dead at 3:26 p.m, Browne said.

The Australian-born actor was an Oscar nominee for his role in "Brokeback Mountain" and has numerous other screen credits.

ManBat is in post production, so that should be ok.

HOLY CRAP!
Yeah batman has done film and in post production now, but still... HOLY CRAP

This movie was going to be his best performing role he has done and would have lead him to critical acclaim across the board, now its going to be like the crow, RIP of course but if he is drugged himself to death - STUPID IDIOT if it was an overdose etc

Cypher

sh*t.... :(

No disrespect to the man but I hope it doesnt delay the movie.

Sam

You cant go out without getting mugged by mongs & you cant really stay in & be a prisoner in your own home.

Sam

Then leave the movies, after 6 months no one will give a toss anymore, and you can enjoy your money.

May be the case of how he died but pills found next to him, you need to wait for the full story before judging...

Pills been found and would not be the first well known person do take an overdose but he would not be the first to found to be taking medication for a heat condition or something else and had an attack and tried to take his pils and did not, Nor would he be the first to be taking anti depresents or pain killers and the pills being bad causing an attack etc.

Say what you like but never jump the gun I say but it probably dont look good

Goblin

Yeah. My first response was "Theyre already in post production on Batman, right?"

Weve become so jaded to hearing of celebrity deaths.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Flippin heck, that is a real shock!

It is becoming a bit of a bad and worrying trend and should be as big a news as his death tbh.
The amount of celebrities dying not of old age each year now seems to be growing as well as the amount that are on the road to death and self destruction as well (britney who now apparently has multiple personalities, Lohan and others constantly arrested thinking they above the law and drink and do drugs)

They need to do a number of things, Police and courts need to not treat celebs like a different person and keep letting them off all the time. The big thing that Celebs seem to get is this complete that they are not only above everyone else but above the law as well and just go mad basically.

I feel really sorry for him tbh.... had his whole life ahead of him, was doing really well etc... didnt know much about him but he seamed to be a pretty decent guy... and now hes dead :(

His career was just about to pick up speed, its very sad indeed.

I dont understand why theres so much damned hype about this?

sorry the guy is dead, but I didnt know him, and I dont think ive ever seen a film with him in. Whats more, if he died of an overdose I really couldnt give a sh*t.

However, the media is going crazy, calling it a modern day tragedy. Piss off tbh.

edit: on a second, more kinder note... the point im making is the media is ruining the poor guys death, just like they did for princess diana, what about his poor family. Apparently theres loads of people gathering outside his flat in america, fans, for some strange reason? thats just annoying, let his family grieve for god sake.

God I hate the media.

It is a shock, He basically in the last 2 years has really started to get his acting into the next level and with a string of nominations and looking set to put out an amazing performance as the Joker he is now dead. He is 28 and for most movie stars if they are starting to shine is basically the start of the big time and had the talent and recently starting to show his range apparently blowing people away on the set of the dark knight.
If an overdose it would be very silly of him, you never know how things are with people really, yes he just spit with williams but he was on for big big things and he would have been told that left right and center unless e could not handle it. If he died from being ill or something silly and a one off that again is still very shocking.
Anyone dying at that age is wtf
