Title: Safe Overclock for my set-up?
Post by: Eagle on December 23, 2007, 21:47:01 PM

Can someone give me an idea of what settings I need to change in order to (safely) overclock by machine?  Ive read the theory and Im still none the wiser.

Just about to install Call of Duty 4 and I want the best possible performance out of it!

• Q6600 G0 (2.4 stock)
• P5K-E WiFi
• 4Gb Corsair 6400
• BFG OC2 8800GT
• Corsair 620W PSU
• Vista 64 Ultimate

:)

My comp is awful compared to yours and it played fine at 1680x1050 with COD4.

If you need to OC try upping settings slightly, 2 or 4 percent if your mobo allows it. If not you may need to manually change timings etc, which someone else would be much better suited to advise you.

Either way, slow and steady is the way forward.

*edit - Ack that was a quick edit, lemme check the specs.

*2ndEdit - No way should you need to overclock with that spec, COD4 seems like a very well coded piece of software and youre comp should make it look very nice.

RTFM - then go easy on actually doing it. Everything you need should be in the motherboard bios.
