Thought Id bump this, I eventually plumped for the overclocked 8800GT from MSI with the Zalman cooler, plonked it in and its working fine. It idles at 39-40 and doesnt exceed 50 under heavy load on the games that were pushing my old card to 120 deg C +.

Another Tek success story, hurrah!
