Most games are developed on middleware software on PC these days and then compiled for specific platforms. Its not a hugh task to cross port something if its been written on the right iddleware platform to begin with. Since Sega dont have their own platform anymore they can work on any platform they like.

Cant wait tbh, I loved the old Shenmue, might just fire up my DC tonight and have a play.

No idea if its true or not really but I know kikizo are famous for their accurate reports and close industry contacts. Id be over the moon. Im in the middle of completing 2 again on DC (so much better than the xbox version - but I dont really know why??) and its great. Id be annoyed to never know how the story ends.

I know about using middleware, but the problem is that if shenmue 3 will be any good it will need to use a very specific platform to get the effects etc that are available.

Middleware is the reason alot of EA games are dull because they are multiplatform. The majority of the real performance games are designed for a single platform at high end.

It is possible they did this with the 360, but it is not possible for them to have done so with the ps3 as the sdk that sony has provided up till now has been next to useless, hence the amazing amount of release titles for the ps3, they are all middleware dodgy looking ports or made by sony themselves.
