I have no idea.

Are you sure 30" is really big enough? :P lol

f**k yeah.  although with my top-notch 22" only costing £250, i think id rather have 4 of them.

Your 22" surely wont be near the standard of the Dell for that money. I;ve yet to see any other brand TFT that stands up next to the 24" Dell Sam has.

Id get the 30", Ive been dreaming about one for a long time to marry with a nice new dual/quad core system. All my money is going elsewhere at the moment though.

bim just how big 30" is, if you got the space then yeah but personally Id go 22" max for a pc screen.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Beaker

or have a good holiday and buy a smaller screen?

Eggtastico

For that amount you can buy a Projector & have the screen as small or as little as you want, depending on your room size.

24inch, big enough to show two A4 sheets side by side at 100% is about as big as I think Id want to go for a PC screen tbh, unless it spent 90% of its life as a media plaer.

for that price you can get a new machine as well as the top of the range 24" benq monitor which is probably the best on the market in terms of hrdi viewing.

My Neuroscience supervisor has a 30" apple cinema display.  Ive only ever seen the back of it, but its f***ing massive.  Youd need a hell of a desk.

I think theres definately a sweet-spot for screen sizes.  Too big and you have to dart your eyes all over the place, which gets quite tiring.

Id only get a 30" if i was either half blind, or watched a lot of movies and had nowhere for a projector.  Doesnt represent terribly great benefit/cost ratio either.

Serious

I watch TV and DVDs on my puter as well as doing word processing and games. It would also put me in good stead if I buy a HD drive 8)

edit:

just to incresae envy, he runs the 24s off an 8800gtx, and the 30 off an 8800 gts!

bear

Have I read that wrong or are you talking about all 3 from the same box? If so, sounds like a joke to me.  :P
