Review to follow in a couple weeks as it was on backorder.

Got a cheapie set of Sennheiser HD201s for nighttime listening. Wanted some 120s, but Open Aire sort of defeats the whole keepin quiet thing.

$80 for both, shipped. 8)

Nice one, mowing magnet I believe. I have an audio technica MD on me hitachi drive I do not find the specs have surched with no luck.

ATs are a great value as well. Very nice for classical as they have a super accurate high end. The analagous AT to the Shure Im getting is the 440ML. I thought about it, but sometimes ATs get a little sybilanty for my sensitive ears.

MD is probably an out of manufacture model, sort of like the pretty nice Stanton thats currently on my deck--cant find it anywhere. I could have retipped it for $40, as the new styli fit it, but Im a Shure man really. :P

nice cart max :)

you might want to look into a signal cleaner which eliminates any fuzz on the juice into your amp :)

Ill be interested to hear what you think of both the cans and the cart.  :D

Cart should sound like every good Shure Ive owned but better, which is to say very transparent and fair. :ptu:

The cans, well for Ã,£10.85, you tell me.

Basically for listening to mp3s on the pooter, and they should be spectacular for that.

please your saying a silver power cable doesnt work?

lol

QuoteSo what do our fifty hours of testing, scoring and listening to speaker cables amount to? Only that 16-gauge lamp cord and Monster cable are indistinguishable from each other with music and seem to be superior to the 24 gauge wire commonly sold or given away as speaker cable.

There is quite a bit in this that you will hear what you want to hear and what you believe will produce a better result will produce a better result, even if the actual situation is the opposite.

Many orchestras now have to perform blind trials of prospective players simply because their usually male testers have been found to be blatantly biased against women in the past.

There comes a point where the guage of the wire and the material used offer no discernable benefit to anyone other than the lined pockets of the snake oil salesman.

It pretty much stops with 75Ohm OFC copper wiring, as used across the audio/visual industry.

At least, thats what I gather. edit: Having said that, I do have some more elaborate cables myself, very short lengths, purchased only because of their bargain nature at the time. I figured if copper is good enough, no harm going for that little bit extra just in case at a good price. At least it casts aside any doubt. Whatever makes you happy really.

True audiophiles may use double lengths of lamp cord is what youre getting at.
