Hmm, if its got a screen like that and similar physical dimensions to the thinnest latest-gen iPod, I could be won over I feel.

Vidoes to see it in action
I have to say the more I see the more I like, It could be graobbing a lot of the maket i think, for a first proper stab at it its not bad.
Skinable interface to make it your own will be popular And the share feature is cool, get 3 people with one on a train and see each other, thats 6 songs you could get new that you have not heard before to play a few times, I mean ofton then not on your player now some songs get played once a month and you can go "I like that" and get it.
We just need this silly crap of purchased songs for only one player sorted and we will be away, its starting apple dont like but more are on board for a unified system now.

Yup.  Orange do mobile phones, MS do err, other stuff.

Meanwhile, I think the logo ROCKS. :)

Theres already a lot of fuss over the wireless.

When you share a song over the wireless interface with another Zune it will automatically wrap it in DRM, regardless of where the music has come from. This DRM means the song can only be played 3 times, or lasts 3 days, whichever comes first.

Now fair enough to those with actual copyrighted material i.e. the major labels. What about all the people with their own created content? Public domain works? Creative Commons licensed materials?

This actually violates the Creative Commons License and breaks copyright law so a lot of people are making noise about it already. Some argue that its not MS that is cauing the infringment, its the users who are doing it by choosing to transmit the songs; its their action that wraps it in DRM.

DRM issues aside, if the player can be hacked to run homebrew I can see it being fairly good. Would be nice to have some larger disk sizes. As to whether it beats the iPod I doubt it. The fact it wont do Plays4Sure infected files means that MS are just bringing another DRM crippled device to the market with no established base to work with.
