I let my nephew use my computer earlier... and now I have a new meun bar in IE called "internet service"

if i un-tick it via the menu... it just stays there....

I cant un-install it, if you try to via add or remove programs it tells you, that you have to restart before uninstalling..... but it doesent un-install it....

got rid of most of the junk with msconfig.... but the 2 programs and the menu bar are still there.... anyone seen this before ?

"internet service" and "secure browsing" are too common to google for, no matter what I search for Ive only found a couple of relevent pages, and theyre just from more people like me who are stuck !

Could be some kind of SmitFraud or Virtuamonde install.  THey come in many different flavours.

HijackThis the thing, and then use http://www.hijackthis.de to analyse the file.

Counterspy or Ewido should get rid of them, or if not it may point you in the right direction for more specific tools.

If that doesnt work gimme a shout back and ill suggest a couple of others.

my usual adaware+spybot search and destroy combo didnt even touch it !

(and I was pretty miffed on a 4 day old install!)

ouchies on the 4-day old install/  Which got rid of the crap in the end?  I suspect it was counterspy, but just curious.  Its somewhat better than most of the other options.  SpySweeper can also be helpfull, but it can also be a pain in the arse for not finding stuff that is obviously there.

HijackThis did it.... once I fugured out which tick box related to whcih item on there webpage list it was easy and did it all in one go :o
