For better or worse watching Cars has thrown me into a downward spiral of ever-more ernest country pop.
Heard one song from this album by The Wreckers, Michelle Branch, and Jessica Harp, and gotta say I liked it a lot.
Wondered if anyone had heard the whole album and can (dis)recommend it or recommend similar stuff?
HAR.
sh*t kicking music.
Heh, theyre from this moderately sized city in the American SE that I currently live in. If you like them, youll probably also enjoy Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins (http://www.amazon.com/Rabbit-Jenny-Lewis-Watson-Twins/dp/B000CQQHPY/sr=8-1/qid=1157136089/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-8770707-3234328?ie=UTF8&s=music).
Ive also had Cat Power (http://www.amazon.com/Greatest-Cat-Power/dp/B000C0X3ZC/sr=8-1/qid=1157136172/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-8770707-3234328?ie=UTF8&s=music) in constant rotation, but her new disc has more of a Memphis r&b sound.
Havent heard the entire Wreckers record, but the reviews are promising.
Come to think of it, the Wreckers are more "Nashville" sounding than anything I recommended, meaning, more slick production.
Youd defintely like the Dixie Chicks, and even the mainstream Lee Ann Womack (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Theres-More-Where-That-Came-/dp/B0009UBSXO/sr=8-4/qid=1157139060/ref=pd_ka_4/026-9715036-0910813?ie=UTF8&s=gateway) is damn good--and thats coming from a guy that despises mainstream country.
Michelle Branchs albums are quite good, ages since Ive listened to them, hmm will add them to the list of things to listen to at the mo.
