Ok then.

After some irritation and maessing aorund ive used Amarok form playing my MP3s.  Actually a very nice piece of kit.  Just got to hunt down a driver that supports my Back and Forward buttons on the trackball and ill be a happy camper.  Lats time i touches SuSe it was v8 IIRC.  It was a nightmare trying to get it to support some of my hardware, but this time its even recognised the ITE Raid card without flinching.

HP Printer worked as soon as i plugged it into the USB, next stage is to intall some form of VM Ware.  Not sure what ill pick out yet, but occasionally ill want to run 2k as a virtual machine.

Grab VMware player/server, if youre using player you can create VMs using qemu-img.
Ive not tried the server edition, Xen is powerful enough for what I need.

Got Xgl working yet? :-)

Ill take a look, just putting my basics on.  Suse comes with a brilliant software set, the only complaint was an audio player i liked.  Amarok fits the bill nicely, all the controls and features i want without any of the cack i dont.

Im not going to bother with Xgl.  I considered it, but ive already set up multiple desktops and thats all i ask for with my base screen.  Its extra cruft ive no great use for.
