If so I suppose will be what service pack 2 did for windows xp but a new operating system using new features of vista but without all the issues people have and hopefully DRM crap will be sorted by then.

I bet you anything it will end up a little more then that.
They will take in all the crap about vista and release the thing and be a bit different and be basically another operating system.

I would even go far as to put out there that Vista is Windows melenium. It is All what they could get working and finished and probably to much and again its beta to the masses.
While nice its not brilliant with a fair few issues with it that are not just bugs.
I bet the other will be changes to the core and removal of some features when required and be like xp.

They do not have any solid whql drivers and do not expect decent drivers till around the summer, direct x 10 is going to be good but looks to cause driver issues galore for both nvidia and ati and games

ATI have drivers but AMD have reported they are not yet happy with the performance either

Many game companies are hacked off with game performance under vista and the changes and patches they need to do to address things that are really not their issues and MS being "tards" as one article I read.

Reading of these things this I really do think Vista is MSs next Windows Melenium and that What ever this operating system will be in 2 years will be what Windows xp did.

They will spend 2 years of vista looking at things like this and while the core of the operating system will more or less be the same they will go back and from scratch re-create some aspects if needed and cut and remove the things that are not needed and while not offering the number of version a home and pro version will emerge I bet you.

Pro will be nice and stripped and extra stuff availible to download and basically will be windows xp with vista looks and the cool features and security and if DRM things change which they look like they may do within the 2 years they may change that.
