I been too busy to get into last couple of weeks even though I have wanted too.
It good to access all the items and fly around by default if you got ops now, help build cool things.
Wonder how the towns will effect teckland. They get populated and all the other cool stuff look interesting in 1.9

There's a ton of cool stuff coming in through 1.8/1.9 like biomes (swamp, snow, giant mushrooms + mooshrooms ), snowmen, NPCs + towns, nether expansions

I think I need to build a faster server :S

I'd leave a server running on mine but I think my connection is too poor.

It does look good, at the moment I rarely go back on there, unless to see what new features do, I still haven't played with pistons :S

We need to do some adventures really, or do a collaborative town build, I think the 'give' command does take out some of the fun, we need to do a game together with actual mining and survival

Also what are the current server specs, and are there any free RAM slots?

Current server is a Sempron 3000+
I think it's probably got enough ram (1.5 or 2gb)

It's using MineOS+ so the actual ram usage by the OS is tiny

Looking forward to 1.9, will login today to check it out as it stands, i reckon you should wipe the server for a fresh start.

PS. Without OP commands it becomes boring fast, but i assume you can just OP the people who want it and leave the others who don't want it, to fend for themselves.

I can start a fresh world, and keep this one in reserve if you like?  I can have up to 3 on the go at any one time.
I'm not sure how to get the towns working though.

Opping and de-opping is easy enough.

To be honest, if we aren't doing a quest type thing, then there is no point in de-opping anyone, If people don't want to use the give command they dont have to, but would be good to go back in to proper survival mode, with explosions 

So what do we want to do?

Opped people can de-op themselves if they want to.

Going on a new world would be cool. I was learning bits and bobs more then anything and would be nice to have op with the new controls so can fly around a bit to easily create nice stuff.
