I stick my head in, but I'm not much of a film buff to know the answers :(

Most of the films being used are films/genres very few people will be aware of. I know it's meant to be hard, but it's not the best of games if hardly anyone can join in...

we should have a quick fire round.... all arnie films etc.... can make the pictures hard because it's a limited selection of films ?

Just looked at the movies posted. Bar 2 most are films you should have really seen over the years. Any "Blockbuster" Movie you post here will be got in minutes, way to easy no matter what scene you post as they are too well known. I do dot see the fun in that.
I have really enjoyed the older movies, I been making it quite easy and posting the last few which are brand new.

what about instead of a full frame grab, just post part of it ?

something like a little bit og the sign from ghostbusters would be easily recognisable by everyone, but at the same time could be a lot of different things ?
(ok this isn;t a great example, just the first one I thought of)

right now, even when the film has been recognised and names I still have no-idea what it is.... and I watch a lot of films....

Way I see it 1 frame or part of the frame can be easily made too hard.

Better idea is that for every post of a new movie you have to post 3 or 4 frames from different parts of the movie. You can still be selective but it should give people more of a chance.

my idea was you could post up easier pics, but with less in them

so when someone gets it everyone else goes "ophhh yeah i recognise that now"

plus it gives the film buffs an edge as you can post up something like an easily recognisable picture... and then it turns out the same thing was used in 2 films etc. etc. ?

Eggtastico

why not just make it so the screenshot must have at least one of the major actors in the frame.

I do not think that is any fun at all.
You would either know it right away or have an easy point of reference to go google if you wished.

nexus, what we're saying is, why don't we use clips that are hard to recognise, instead of films which no-one has ever hear of ?

Beanissocoollike

To be honest, out of all of the films posted, I know 8 (including the one I posted).

I'm from the 90's, so older films are a bit lost on me, unless I have a real interest in them.

I think you're missing the point of the game Nexus, it's not 'lets post the most obscure screen shot so no one but me knows it, and I'll just have to post another one until someone does', it's meant to be hard, yes - but not impossible! No wonder why nobody's really interested in it any more, because there's no way they can contribute.

Done quizzes of just this. If it is a known movie that is still pretty easy. If I posted 8 Movies, Recent and box office and did that when I get home, pretty much everyone will know them even like that.
That is just what I was trying to point out, Also you would have to take a screen of the movie you have and then crop etc and take more time to do.

knighty

well.... who;s go is it to post one anyway ?

why not just try what we're suggesting and see where it goes ?
