If you want to loot items during the new mode you need to buy:
Tour of Duty Tickets
Squad Surplus Vouchers
I understand this is a way to generate cash from F2P Players but what about us people that bought the game for full price.
I was never bothered about TF2's F2P model as there wasn't too much difference between the stuff you randomly acquired and the stuff that was purchased however more and more its moving towards having to spend money which is crap :(
They should of at least given the people who paid for the game some of the in game currency (or at least a couple keys) instead of a hat (or whatever they gave).
Haven't tried the new mode yet, not been in the mood.
The loot in Mann Up mode is just cosmetic. You can still play Mann vs Machine mode for free which is basically the same without the cosmetic loot drops
The one thing that really irks me about TF2 is all the hundreds of bits of loot, some of it is simply unfair and spoils the dynamic of the game IMO. If an already good player is charging round owning everyone with rare collectibles the games become horribly one sided and actual teamwork is left by the wayside.

Cosmetic or not, i don't think its right that early adopters lose out. :P
