Whats yours and why you buy?

Thinkin o getting a 24" Dell 2407WFP or just a 20.1" 2007FP.

:)

SteveF

24" Apple version of that panel at home and its great.  dual dell 24" at work and exactly the same but cheaper.

Great buy tbh

Kunal

Ive got the Dell 2405FPW and use it as my PC monitor and TV, although recently Ive ditched it for a 46" Samsung.

Maldonado

i have the 2007, its awesome. DVI for my computer, VGA for the 360.

Im still using the Viewsonic i bought from tekheads when Sam was running it, i think, its a few years old 17" not widescreen but ive not had a single issue with it, no dead pixels etc, puts all the other tfts i had to shame.

Cant really decide what to upgrade to now

Sam

I used to have the 24" dell before I upgraded and its an excellent monitor.

Anyone with any sense would get a dell and things just look better with each version and if you just do not want a dell in principle like some people strangly do then just get a samsung since dell is the same lcd anyway

Pete

I got the Samsung 22" its nice but I wouldnt buy one again - it goes a bit blurry on footy matches and stuff.

For typing and normal telly and games its ok I guess.

Next time I buy one Im gonna do proper research rather than go off ebuyer customer comments and stuff. Its hard for people to say they hate something when theyve just dropped £200 on.

For instance, the 226BW uses 3 different panels in their 22" and 2 of them are made by 3rd parties and have colour issues.

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Im probably going to hunt down one of the HP widescreens next time, or get something like the Asus Glass fronted screens.  I cant practically go over 22" and still have space for the laptop.   Would love a 32" or something silly, but the 19" is looking crowded, and ill have to make space for that.

What did you upgrade to out of interest?

Cant really imagine myself wanting bigger than 24" as a working desktop.
"Within your 'purview'? Where do you think you are, some f**king regency costume drama? This is a government department, not some f**king Jane f**king Austen novel!"

3 Screens:

Still have a 19" CRT : Gateway VX900
Hyundai L70s+ With built in speakers, it perfect for web browsing & email
And the Samsung 205BW 20" Widescreen just right for games.

Eagle

The 2407WFP is just my first TFT - an experiment if you will.

When Im flush and maybe a year or so down the line, Ill probably drop a grand on one. :)

Serious

The Dell 24"ers are superb, my brother has one. You might consider getting a second and running them as a pair. The only monitor upgrade would be one of the 30" ones.

A 40"+ Large screen LCD might be an option for games, movies and such though.

SteveF

30" LCDs are horrible for working on - theyre too big.  I switched back to 24s.

Eagle - we use them for 3D graphics chip development, video processing and looking for graphical artifacts in shadows and colour so wouldnt worry about the colours etc
