What game, in your opinion, youd say is the best of all time?
For me, it would be Metal Gear Solid back on the PSone. Just a fantastic game and I never put it down when I had it for Xmas a good number of years back.
Command and Conquer series by a long way.
If I had to choose one it would be, Red Alert 1 with the Aftermath expansion.

For me itll mostly be some kind of JRPG.
Ive played tons in the past. The one that sticks out most would be Shining Force 2 on the Megadrive.
Although, for recent times Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube was immense. I couldnt put it down, whilst at uni I managed to play about 24 hours worth of it in one sitting. After that marathon I slept for 4 hours then got straight back onto it because I thought I had nearly completed it >_<
f**king game threw me a curve ball and I had to spend the entire day playing again to get to the end. Was well worth it though, amazing game.
And Ive just found out theres a sequel coming on Wii \o/ \o/
Fantasy World Dizzy, Lemmings or Tetris.
On the grounds of "most time spent playing" (Well, a game has to be good for you to play it loads hasnt it?)
Probably FF8 has clocked the most hours for me, and has left a lasting memory of the story in my mind.
Hate to say it but a close second is probably WoW.
And creeping into 3rd place, Mechwarrior 2:Mercs. I played that game for about 2 years when we first got a computer. It got me into the Mechwarrior franchise, and I never got bored of it.
Sorry, cant even get close to a single top dog, too many wonderful hours spent over the years. (cant believe its now getting towards 20 years of gaming :/ )

I agree with the 1st, but the second i cant bring myself to. Im still playing Tiberian Sun on a regular basis. Love it.
Its actually hard to pick things out to be fair.
For me....
Starsiege Tribes, SWOS and Battlefield 2 have got to be in there.
Sensible Soccer v1.1 (at a push SWOS as above) - now its thread over.
Although a big claim can be made bu Formula 1 by CRL on he speccy. If youve never played it your missing out.

Some good games, you cant really say one is absolutely the best because if the different generes.
RA1 is probably the point where battle simulations came into their peak.
I also liked doing the X-wing/tie fighter games.
Then there was Doom, 3d shoot em up
Which one is the all time best is a moot point.

First thing I reached for when I got dos box on this Ubuntu lappy!!
1: Mariokart 64 (n64)
2: Red Alert 2 (PC .. obv)
3: Golden Axe (MegaDrive)
These are probably the only 3 games I have any interest in going back to for one last go.
